Communications support for COP26.

Open waste burning has dire implications for the climate, health and livelihoods. We were briefed to engage the media around COP 26 to help improve understanding of the issue and support a wider call to action.

First, we media trained the RAE spokespeople to make sure  they were up-to-date with the messaging and had all relevant facts at their fingertips. Second, we conducted media outreach under embargo, securing print and broadcast interviews with expert Academy spokespeople in top-tier pan-African and local media in Kenya and Ethiopia. With the publication of the press release,  we secured a further 1000 media hits across the continent in wider print and online coverage.
